Research Interests

My research interests are associated with mechanics and physics of materials at the nanometer and micrometer scales. In particular, I am interested in using computer simulation to help us understand the macroscopic phenomena and properties, often through the venue of microscopic fidelity. The research topics I am currently involved are:

• Multiscale modeling: the research subjects are usually related to atomistic and continuum modeling methods and their applications to nanostructured materials and components. (more)
• Multiphysics modeling: the research subjects are usually related to engineering systems (e.g., NEMS, smart materials) in which their structures or materials with coupled mechanical and electronic or optical behavior.
