ABOUT CAE

電腦輔助工程組之成立,乃是因應土木工程對資訊技術日漸增加的需求,培養具備工程與資訊專業知識的跨領域人才,以增進相關研究的深度與廣度,並提昇土木工程領域資訊化、自動化、智慧化的程度。迄今,電腦輔助工程組的師生已在計算模擬、工程系統整合、人工智慧等主軸上有深入的研究。在教學上,我們著重於學生的創新與實作能力的培養,經由實作與理論並重的課程,培育具備競爭力、責任感及傑出專業能力的未來工程師。

The Computer-Aided Engineering Group (CAE) in the Department of Civil Engineering was established to fulfill the increasing demand for technology-driven solutions in modern civil engineering practice. The Group's educational objective is to cultivate students who possess a multi-disciplinary skill-set that includes both engineering and information technology expertise. The Group's research efforts aim to deepen and broaden understanding in technology-driven engineering with contributions in the automation of civil engineering practice and expansion of the related bodies of knowledge. Conducting research at the CAE is innovative and filled with joy and excitement.

ABOUT FUTURE

96碩 郭政翰

CAE組著重在如何使用新技術與新科技,來解決工程上的問題,在我出社會工作後,雖然已經不在土木領域發展,但是在CAE所學到的研究方法,以及組內強調的「除了要能夠想,還有能夠動手做的能力」,到現在仍然讓我獲益良多。雖然CAE隸屬于土木工程,但是研究的內容可說是包山包海,能夠想像「睡眠、色彩、UI/UX、機器人」相關的研究也與我們有關嗎?所以在組內的生活真的很有趣,會看到許多跨領域的研究成果,這些經驗也開闊了我的眼界,並且可以用更宏觀的角度去思考與分析目前所遇到的問題。

The CAE group focuses on utilizing new technologies and techniques to solve engineering problems. Even though I have moved away from the field of civil engineering since entering the workforce, the research methods learned in CAE, as well as the emphasis on "the ability to think and to put ideas into action," continue to benefit me greatly. Although CAE is a part of civil engineering, the scope of research is vast and diverse. It's interesting to imagine how studies related to "sleep, color, UI/UX, robotics," for instance, might be relevant to us. Life within the group is truly fascinating; you get to witness numerous interdisciplinary research outcomes. These experiences have broadened my perspective, allowing me to think and analyze current problems from a more holistic standpoint.

我在到CAE前,一直很猶豫,因為一開始對CAE的直覺就是寫程式。在進了CAE後,發現我是要花很多時間在資訊科技上沒錯,但在了解資訊科技時,也會對它的應用去進行了解,對我想知道的領域進行潛在問題及來龍去脈的了解,這些知識的累積,可以說是一種深化的內功。而另一方面,懂了資訊科技底層後,又能知道怎麼運用才能將這些技術發揮的最好,找到解決問題的最適合的方法,這些資訊技術的能力就是外功。有內功又有外功是我覺得進來CAE組最大的好處,且在知道怎麼把資訊科技有效應用來解決問題後,除了整合能力變強外,在處理事情上也會變的更有「系統」喔!

Before joining CAE, I was hesitant because my initial impression of CAE was that it primarily involved programming. However, upon entering CAE, I realized that while I did spend a significant amount of time on information technology, I also delved into understanding its applications. I sought to comprehend potential issues and the background behind various fields I was interested in. The accumulation of this knowledge can be seen as a deepening of my expertise.

Moreover, understanding the underlying principles of information technology allows me to determine the most effective ways to utilize these technologies and find the best solutions to problems. This ability to leverage information technology effectively represents the external skills, or "external power." Having both internal and external skills is, in my opinion, the greatest benefit of joining the CAE group. Knowing how to apply information technology effectively to solve problems not only strengthens my integration abilities but also makes me more systematic in handling tasks.
