The construction industry runs on contracts, safety reports, project plans, and building models that demand a level of domain knowledge general-purpose AI cannot provide. This research develops lightweight language models purpose-built for AEC workflows — one focused on construction document intelligence, another on conversational interaction with Building Information Models.

We are looking for motivated students to join this research effort over the summer, contributing to the development, training, and evaluation of these systems on real construction data.

Track A — Construction Document Intelligence

Developing an AI model that evaluates response quality for construction management queries.

Track B — BIM Tool Routing

Developing an AI model that understands natural language and routes commands to the right BIM tool.
